Auttie turned 33 this last weekend so a celebration was due. We gathered around a huge bon-fire, ate delicious food (thanks friends), drank great beverages and partied with 30 or so friends (& 30 or so kids), until the the sun came up (ok-so it felt)!!! We love you Auttie -thanks for the evening!!

Valentine's Day Party

I joined Tate's class this Valentine's Day for their traditional exchange & Clifford The Big Red Dog's birthday party. The kids looked so adorable with their dog ears, whiskers and black noses. Forget the red roses and fancy dinner, my day was complete watching all the kindergartners open their valentines, thanking each other along the way.

River Float 2009

So every year Brad & Aut mention this river float that takes place every February. I've lived in Eburg long enough to know what February looks like....on the river. Grey & Cold!!! This year we decided to join in, and so glad we did. Apparently, it has been a tradition for over 30 years that a great group of people float the Yak. River, stopping at a piece of land owned by a member for a gourmet food & wine event. It was a warm, beautiful day full of fun!! There must have been over 200 people there enjoying the day, company, wine & delicious treats. Thanks for the invite!!

New Year's Eve

This New Year's was a blast at our friends snow covered cabin. We've been going to the cabin now for over 6 years and have a blast every time. We had so much fun playing games, cooking, sledding, & just being. Hangin' in our cozies, no make-up, snow fun!! The 6 little ones celebrated New Years @ 8 o'clock & off to bed it was. We on the other hand headed outside for crazy sledding fun. Thanks Eric & Beck-I'm still laughing!

Christmas 2

Christmas with my side of the family was celebrated the 26th with great food, wine, family and yes, a pinata party. Since my dad has had so much time on his hands, I thought that I would pass a few of my projects off to him. The first was homemade granola bars. Thinking he would spend the following day making them, I was surprised when the phone rang at 10pm that night. It was dad wondering if I wanted them wrapped individually or together!!! I thought for sure at that time of night it would have been an emergency! They turned out great, and dad was ready for a second project. The next project was to make a pinata with Tate. It started out smoothly until the house became too warm and the whole thing blew up sending flour & water coated paper strips through the entire kitchen & dining room. Not giving up without a fight, he began a new pinata. Somehow it became his project, working on it daily. Tate was unpleasantly surprised when he showed up at Papa's house to find it complete. Thanks dad, it turned out to be great fun for you...and the kids!

We were disappointed that the flu hit part of the family, so not everyone was able to join us. We were however able to spend time with my cousin and her family that we had not seen in over 10 years. It was a great holiday.
